An Australian man has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for threatening to kill New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
ABC Australia posted Carmack Patrick Rothsay on Facebook in August, with a picture of Ardern and the caption "He must be caught like an animal".
Newcastle District Court heard on Friday that Muslims should not be in Australia and that they also want Muslims to die.
Rothsay falsified the ABC report in September.
On Friday, Judge Tim Gartleman sentenced Rothsay to 10 months in prison. He must receive mental health treatment upon release.
