SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australia's largest state in New South Wales on Saturday reported a case of locally transmitted COVID-19, which threatened the epidemic as social distance limits continue to go smoothly.
The state recorded four new coronavirus cases overnight, totaling 7,300 in Australia.
The local case was a man in his 20s, and according to health officials, he had not attended the recent Black Lives Matter protests in Sydney.
NSW Health said, "The possibility of the virus is still circulating in society. People with mild symptoms or obvious symptoms may not accidentally pass on the infection to other people."
Of the four new cases, two are already passengers in a hotel blockade, while one is linked to a previously reported transition to a public school.
Australia has so far been successful in preventing the spread of coronavirus, and many parts of the country have already claimed that the disease has been eradicated. The country reported 102 deaths and is set to reopen its economy by next month.
