What are the charges against Chauvin?
He faces three separate charges: unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree murder, with a maximum penalty of 40, 25, and 10 years in prison, respectively.

More accusations can be made, but a first-degree murder charge is likely to be filed against him because prosecutors have to prove their motives and intent, the Associated Press reported.

By making multiple accusations, the prosecution gives gamblers an option and increases the chance of being convicted.
