Former Slovakian defender Sisovsky has died at the age of 40

Former Slovakian defender Marianne Sisovsky died at the age of 40 after battling incurable amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for six years.

Victoria said on Facebook and Twitter, "Today is a sad day. Marianne Sisovsky must declare with a heavy heart that we have left her forever."

Sisovsky won three Slovak titles in 2000, 2001, and 2008 with Inter Bratislava and its successor, Armedia Petrazka.

Swarovski joined the then Czech champion Victoria Plzen in 2011 after working for three years with Politehnica Timisoara ​​in the Romanian League.

He helped Victoria win the Czech League title in 2013, but withdrew from the game in 2014 after illness hit him.

But he is still part of the club that lists him on the lineup on his website, and he has always participated in celebrations when he won the Victoria League titles in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

A center of vision, Sisovsky played 15 international games for his native Slovakia. He was also on the Slovak Under-21 team playing at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

ALS is a progressive nervous system disease that affects the neurons in the brain and spinal cord and impairs muscle control.
