Messi sees football as a 'gift' as Barcelona star prepares to return after coronavirus imposed

"I think" Lionel Messi will play for Barcelona again this weekend after accepting a football suspension.

La Liga was halted in March due to a coronavirus pandemic, with Bara two points clear of Real Madrid after 27 games.

Spain returns to the top of the door on Thursday after Sevilla defeated Real Ballis 2–0 and the leaders resumed their campaign at Real Mallorca on Saturday.

Messi has described football as a "gift" and is likely to play it again after three months of uncertainty.

In a video written by Adidas, he said, "I think I did it because of the game."

“I feel like any other player.

“Being able to inspire and inspire others. And perhaps the greatest gift of all: creating happiness for others.

"So, now that the game is back, I'm ready to gift it again."

Messi has been the top scorer this season in La Liga, with 19 appearances in 22 appearances, five of which are close to Kareem Karim Benzema.

The 32-year-old has the most assists, 12 ahead of the Real Social forward port.

The Argentine star is looking to win his 11th league title with Barca and the 25th club trophy overall.

Along with Clement Lenglet, who is expecting big things from the refreshed superstar, he has the support to bring Blegrena to the line.

The French defender told Mundo Deportivo: “He [Messi] is ready to come.

"For players like Messi, Antoine [Griezmann], BC [Sergio Basques] ... who always play - as well as with their national teams - and travel a lot, the lockdown is a good thing. They were able to relax. I could do it."

Quik Setien has 11 home games this season, but the 2019–20 Champions League campaign will end anyway - with Barca's last-16 tie against Napoli in the event.
