This year the locust crew has sailed through crops in East Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and India, and experts fear their numbers will increase with the monsoon rains this month.

In Pakistan, farmers are selling locusts to the authorities - which have been converted into chicken feed with pests - to compensate for the huge loss from swings.

Nepal Ministry of Agriculture said that so far pigs have had a large number of swollen and no major damage to the crop.
