The Senate has confirmed President Trump's 200th Judicial Nomination

The Republican-controlled Senate on Wednesday confirmed President Donald Trump's 200th Judicial Nominee, a key milestone in the presidential race, which has tilted the federal judiciary for decades to come.

As Judge Corey Wilson affirmed in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Trump successfully appointed 53 appellate court judges, 143 district court judges, two US international trade judges, and two Supreme Court justices - Neil Gorsuch and Brett Quang. According to Mitch McConnell's office, most of the Senate leaders are.

Trump, with the help of a determined McConnell and Senate GOP majority, significantly changed the judiciary during his first term, and the 200th recruiting milestone marks how enduring his legacy is as federal judges make lifetime appointments. And Trump has taken many. Young judges can serve for many years.

"Judicial review maybe President Trump's most important legacy," said CNN law analyst Jeffrey Tobin. "They will be drafting the country's laws on abortion, LGBT rights, voting rights, and many other issues long after Trump takes office."

200 certifications will become a permanent part of McConnell's legacy. The Kentucky Republican, who is preparing for re-election this year, was instrumental in changing Senate regulations, both of which ended the 60-vote limit for minority filibusters as a process of certifying judicial nominees.

In a 52-48 vote Wednesday, the Senate confirmed Wilson and replaced the currently available appeals court post. Democrats have complained about Wilson's views on voting rights and other issues, but have not been able to stop his confirmation as all votes are needed to approve the general majority.

"After we confirm Judge Wilson, the Senate will confirm President Trump's 200 nominees for lifetime appointments to the federal bench," McConnell said of the victory before the vote.

"And after number 200, when we leave this room today, for the first time in at least 40 years, there will be no circuit-court vacancies anywhere in the country," McConnell said.

Earlier this month, the Senate announced that the U.S. House of Representatives. D.C. for Court of Appeals. Voting for the walk, Justin Walker, a young judge close to McConnell, told Democrats he was ineligible. The DC Appeal Court is considered a breeding ground for future Supreme Court judges, and the court serves Kwonwag before Trump is appointed to the Supreme Court.
