Timo Werner: Chelsea forward agrees to deal with RB Leipzig




Chelsea has agreed on a deal with RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.

Report The 24-year-old, who has scored 25 goals in the Bundesliga this season, has an m 54million release clause.

He said the German international was associated with Liverpool and that he was proud of the association.

BBC Sport understands that Liverpool is not interested in signing Werner, who has netted 11 times in 29 matches for his country.

The Reds have no plans to sign anyone in the next transfer window.

Last month, French striker Olivier Giroud extended his contract for a year.

Chelsea will be the second signing for next season after completing an m 37 million deal for Ajax winger Hakim Zach in February.

He has impressed in Leipzig since the 2016 transfer from hometown club Stuttgart.

Werner scored a hat-trick for Leipzig's recent 5-0 win over Main, and he netted three times against the same opposition 8-0 before Christmas.
