US F-15C aircraft crashed in the North Sea, pilot situation unknown




 The U.S. Air Force F-15C Eagle crashed into the North Sea off the coast of England during general training Monday morning.  The reason for the pilot crashing and flying over it is currently unknown. According to the 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs of the statement, the UK The search and rescue was called to support the downed aircraft and were searching for the crash site.  


The F-15C is part of the 48th Fighter Wing based on the Royal Air Force Lakenheath in the UK, 70 miles northeast of London.  The 48th Fighter Wing, according to its Facebook page, has been instrumental in providing combat support in counterterrorism operations, flying combat missions, and in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  RAF Lakenheath is the largest US Air Force base in England.
