Among the dead was a 7-year-old boy who had gone to pray with his father. The father's condition is critical.

A fire broke out in connection with the blasts on Friday night while worshipers were offering prayers. At least 37 people were admitted’ to the burn unit at a government hospital in Dhaka, where 24 died.

The doctors said that the physical condition of others was critical, as they had suffered up to 90% burns in their body. The blast also exploded at least six air conditioners, shocking worshipers, officials said, as a rapid fire broke out inside the mosque.

Authorities say they suspect gas has accumulated inside the mosque from a leak in an underground pipeline. The windows were closed’ because of the air conditioning.
