But even more important is to make sure you get enough shots than you already know. According to a recent study, just 15 minutes of sleep deprivation can lead to weight gain.
The new study, published
in Comprehensive Internal Medicine, compiled data from 120,000 people using
smartphone-linked sleep tracker apps. Watches and fitness trackers for two
years, CNN reports. The study found that people with a Body Mass Index (BMIs)
above 30 were considered’ obese by the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) - an average of 15 minutes compared to just those. Sleep less
with a healthy BMI.
The authors write that "these
findings further support the idea that sleep patterns are related to weight
management and overall health." The authors wrote. Several previous
studies have examined the relationship between sleep loss and weight gain.
According to a 2014 USA Today report, previous research has shown that lack of
rest can lead to an increase in appetite hormone levels, as well as a decrease
in the whole pin hormone leptin. Sleep has also increased the average daily
calorie intake by 300 calories.
