Figures from the Federal Ministry of Health show that in the last 24 hours, India's coronavirus cases jumped one day to 5 million on Wednesday.
India is the second
country in the world, after the United States, to cross the 5 million mark.
The ministry said the
death toll from COVID-19 had now risen to 82,066, with 1,290 deaths recorded in
the past 24 hours.
