Yesterday we saw the Google Pixel 5 being rolled out’ to various retailers in both the UK and continental Europe, before the phone's official release on September 30th. Today, the device from Germany is completely’ leaked.
Let's dive. As has been rumored countless
times before, the Pixel 5 will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G chipset, not
the flagship grade Snapdragon 865 or 865+. This means low performance, but also
a lack of support for MMW 5G - only 6 networks will work.
The screen will be 6 inches 1080x2340 OLED
with 90 Hz refresh rate and HDR support, which is covered by Gorilla Glass 6.
The fingerprint sensor is still on the back of the phone, and not under the
display.
Surprisingly for Google, because it has
never done so before, the Pixel 5 will send with 8GB of RAM. The base model has
128GB of internal storage.
On the back we get two cameras, a 12.2 MP
f / 1.7 main sensor with dual pixel PDAF and 1.4um pixel size, with OIS and
EIS. It has a 77 degree field of view. Additionally, there is an ultra-cam,
which has a 16MP sensor, 107 degree field view, f / 2.2 aperture, and 1.0mm
pixel size. On the front, the perforated punch has an 8MP camera with f / 2.0
aperture, 1.12M pixel size, and 83 degree field of view. The main camera
captures 4K video at 60fps, 1080p at 240fps, while selfie videos will appear at
1080p00.
The battery is large at 4,080 mAh, and
charges from 18W bricks. Wireless charging is also supported’ as well as
reverse wireless charging. The Pixel 5 has stereo speakers, spectral and
flicker sensors, three mixes, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE, and of
course 5G. There is only one SIM slot, but dual SIM functionality can be
achieved’ through ESIM.
IP68 is the certificate of water and dust
resistance, and the frame is 100 recycled aluminum. The phone will run Android
11 from day one and some countries have ships with wired headphones in the
box. It will be available in green and black, and weighs 151 grams and is 8 mm
thick. It will start at 29,629 in the Eurozone. Given the past performance of
US companies in this regard, the US price is expected to range from 99 599 to
62 629.
