Manchester City midfielder Elkay Gundogan has had a positive experience for the Cowboys-19, the Premier League club said on Monday, adding that he is the third player in the squad to return to a positive Test in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, city winger Riyad
Mahrez and defender Aymeric Laporte tested positive
for the novel Coronavirus earlier this month.
The club said in a statement: "LK is
now observing a 10-day period of detention in accordance with the protocol of
the Premier League and the British government regarding imprisonment."
Gundogan is likely to lose three matches
for the city as he isolates himself, including Monday's league match against
Wolverhampton Wanderers, Thursday's league cup tournament against Bournemouth, and Sunday's league match against Leicester City. It's a game.
Both Maherz and Laporte returned to
training last week, but city boss Pep Gundogan said Algeria's only winger-city the opening game of the season would be available in disguise.
