The United States broke its daily record of new coronavirus infections on Friday as it reported 84,218 new cases of the disease in virtually every part of the country, according to a Reuter’s statement.
With less than two weeks to go before the
November 3 presidential election, matters are on the rise, hitting battlefields
in Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. As many as
76,195 new cases were reported’ in the United States on Thursday.
The previous record was 77,299 new cases on July
16. At the time, 47,000 deaths were hospitalized’ for COVID-19 patients, and
after two weeks, the death toll averaged 1,200 daily.
Now, the number of hospital admissions is over
41,000 and there are an average of 800 deaths per day. On Friday, there was a
record one-day increase in new cases in 16 states and a record number of
COVID-19 patients were hospitalized’ on the 11th.
Health experts have not indicated the cause of
the rise, but have long warned that cold temperatures are taking people inside,
as well as precautionary measures against COVID-19 and students returning to
schools and colleges. Can promote proliferation.
The United States has the highest number of cases
in the world at 8.5 million and the highest death toll is 224,000. The United
States has reported an average of 60,000 new cases in the past week, an average
of seven days since early August.
The Midwest has been the center of the latest
surge, but infections are on the rise across the country.
The Northeast has seen an 83% increase in
incidents in the past month. New cases have doubled in the past four weeks in
Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and New Jersey, according to a Reuter’s
analysis.
Western states, including Montana, New Mexico and
Wyoming, have reported a 200 percent increase over the past four weeks.
