James Safechuck has filed a lawsuit against Michael Jackson's late dismissal of two corporations.
The
42-year-old - who accused the 'sensational' hitmaker of abusing her from the
age of 10 until she was a teenager - allegedly sued MJJ Productions Inc. and
MJJ Ventures. Inc. tried to sue, but Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge
Mark A. Young ruled earlier this week that he did not disclose any ties to the
companies that led to his death. They will be needed’ to save the star.
Jackson
State Attorneys Howard Weitzman and Jonathan Steinsapir welcomed the decision.
"We
are pleased that the court has dismissed Mr. Safechuck's case on the grounds
that it has no basis for such a case," he said in a statement.
This
is the second time James' case has been filed’ in 2013.
A
judge dismissed it in 2017, but a new law was introduced in California earlier
this year that gave those accused of child sexual abuse more time to file a
lawsuit.
The
case of Wade Robson, who made similar allegations against James in Living New
Zealand was revived’ but no new verdict has been handed’ down.
Under
a previous law in California, a trial judge threw out his case because he was
required’ by law to file a lawsuit before he turned 26, and at the time, And
Robson was 30.
The
couple's allegations stemmed from an award-winning documentary, Living New
Zealand, released last year.
The
two claimed in an HBO film about the bombing that they were abused’ when the
late King pop accompanied them on a tour with children.
Robson
alleges that Michael was sexually assaulted’ between the ages of seven and 14,
while Safechuck claimed that he was a victim of adolescence from the age of 10.
Jackson
State has denied all the allegations against the singer and in August 2019,
another documentary 'Chase the Truth' was released’ to defend the 'bad' singer
against the claim.
