Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar defeated Zimbabwe in the Super Over in Rawalpindi to defeat the Pakistan cricket team, while the three-match ODI series ended 2-1 in favor of the hosts. Describing the defeat as shameful, Akhtar said that if Pakistan wanted to avoid becoming history, Pakistan cricket would have to be progressive, while the Babar Azam-led organization was not an "expression".
In the contract game, Burzang Mazarbani scored four runs for just two runs when
they took two wickets and ended Pakistan's innings in the super over. Zimbabwe
took just three deliveries to complete the task and end the ODI series.
Akhtar
tweeted, "Shameful. Losing to Zimbabwe is a problem. You lose some, you
win some but you have to be progressive. We didn't express ourselves. Change
your mindset before it becomes history." Akhtar tweeted.
Zimbabwe
scored 278-6 in 50 overs for Sean Williams, who, like other batsmen Brendon
Taylor shared a great partnership with Vivo. For Pakistan, Mohammad Hasnain
took five wickets which was a great game for the youngster.
Chasing
279, Pakistan were 88-5 before Babar Azam started a crucial partnership with
Khushdal Shah before joining another 100-run partnership with Wahab Riaz.
However,
with two boundaries in the 50th over, Mohammad Musa ended the match in a draw
and took it to a super over.
