Mission of Quality Education Government: Chief Minister Buzdar



LAHORE: The 33rd meeting of Punjab Danish Schools and Centers of Excellence Authority was held in the Chief Minister's Office under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sardar Sardar Usman Buzdar in which he was briefed in detail about Denmark schools and Centers of Excellence.


Usman Buzdar expressed satisfaction that Corona SOPs are being fully ensured in Danish schools. The Chief Minister termed the performance of Danish Schools and Centers of Excellence as satisfactory and said that they were imparting quality education to the poor but intelligent children in the backward areas.


He said that a state-of-the-art boarding school would be set up in Mount Solomon where boys and girls students would be provided quality education with boarding and accommodation facilities and added that quality education for all is our vision. He said that Danish schools are providing opportunities for students to express their talents.


Provincial Education Minister Murad Rass said the government was making serious efforts to bring quality education to public schools on par with private schools. Danish School Authority Vice Chairperson Sameera Ahmed said that Danish Schools and Excellence Authority centers are providing quality education opportunities.


Addition of APP: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the Rehmatullah Amin Scholarship Program for poor and talented students is being run successfully across the province.


According to a handout issued here on Sunday, he said that the purpose of the scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to deserving students. The government is committed to bridging the economic gap between the privileged and the disputed sections of society in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet (SAW). He said that the scholarship program was not for any particular religion or class, but for every talented and needy student.


Usman Buzdar said that under the Rehmat-ul-Alameen Scholarship Program, the government would ensure transparent and fair distribution of scholarships. He said that students can apply for scholarships in PITB from their homes. Intermediate scholarships will be awarded on the basis of matriculation results, while undergraduate scholarships will be awarded on the basis of intermediate results. He said that 14000 intermediate scholarships and 891 undergraduate scholarships would be distributed among the students of government colleges and universities.


In addition, 50% of the scholarships will be given to needy and helpless students while the remaining 50% will be given to students from all districts on full merit. He added that the share of scholarships in science students was 60 percent and the students in the humanities group would get 40 percent.


Usman Buzdar said that these scholarships would also be given to the children of low paid government employees. Under the Intermediate Scholarship, an amount of Rs. 25,000 will be distributed to each student annually, a total of Rs. 700 million will be paid annually. Similarly, undergraduate scholarships will be given to senior students of each undergraduate program in 30 public universities.


Undergraduate scholarships will include full tuition fees for the entire academic session. Rs. 67 million will be given annually and a total of Rs. 268 million will be distributed among the deserving students under this heading. He said that this program would be beneficial for the students who could not continue their education due to financial difficulties.


Heritage Day


The Chief Minister said that protection of unique monuments and historical places needs time.


In a message on World Heritage Day, he said it was a good omen to celebrate the day in terms of historical sites and heritage buildings. "Our heritage reminds us of our past. Pleasant memories of the past make our lives beautiful," he said.


The Chief Minister further said that Punjab is known globally for its architectural beauty and historical places.


Lahore's historic buildings are a testament to its architectural beauty. The Chief Minister further said that the Punjab government was making serious efforts for the protection and promotion of its heritage at the international level.
