US vows to boost ties with Pakistan: COAS, US state talks on phone General Bajwa says that Pakistan supports the peace process



RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and US Secretary of State Anthony J. Blinken had a telephone conversation on Wednesday.


The talks focused on issues of mutual interest, the latest developments in the Afghan peace process, including the regional security situation, and bilateral cooperation in various fields.


The COS said Pakistan would always support the "Afghan-led Afghan-owned" peace process based on the consensus of all stakeholders. The US dignitaries also acknowledged Pakistan's continued efforts for peace and stability in the region and pledged to further enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.


Meanwhile, the Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Koninori Matsuda called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ. During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, regional security situation, and measures to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed.


The COS said that Pakistan values ​​its relations with Japan and recognizes Japan's efforts for regional stability. The visiting Ambassador appreciated Pakistan's role for peace and stability in the region, especially in the Afghan peace process, and vowed to further enhance relations with Pakistan.
