The Pakistani army said Wednesday that Indian troops opened fire on villages bordering Kashmir in Islamabad, killing four civilians and injuring another.
In a statement blaming the Indian Army for launching a "ceasefire violation", Pakistani troops in the disputed Himalayan region "responded effectively" to the Indian firefight without telling anyone.
There was no immediate response from the Indian authorities.
Pakistan and India often trade fire in Kashmir, which is divided between them, and both are fully stated.
About 20 Indian soldiers were killed two days after India and China were ided by the controversial border in the Himalayas. Pakistan has accused New Delhi of tensions with China's longtime ally Islamabad.
Relations between Pakistan and India have existed since last August, when the Hindu nationalist-led Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took control of Kashmir and controlled its autonomy.
Since independence from British rule in 1947, India and Pakistan have waged two wars over Kashmir.
