Boris Johnson says Britain will open 3-meter Hong Kong citizenship after Chinese security law comes into force

Boris Johnson said China's new security law would open Britain's citizenship to those with more than three million Hong Kong British National (Overseas) passports.

His announcement came after Hong Kong police made the first arrest under the law, in which a man allegedly displayed a sign to Union Jack and called for Hong Kong's independence.

Since Tuesday night, the law has sentenced prisoners of activities deemed destructive or separatist. It appears to be targeting anti-government protests.
