President Donald Trump raised the thinking of delaying the subsequent U.S. election scheduled for November, suggesting besides providing proof that mail-in vote casting will be difficulty to fraud.
In a tweet Thursday morning, Trump
repeated false criticisms that vote-by-mail is rife with fraud, announcing that
the election need to be delayed “until human beings can properly, securely and
safely vote.”
Trump’s tweet got here minutes after the
Commerce Department said the financial system shrank at a document 32.9% pace
in the 2nd quarter and Labor Department figures confirmed growing numbers of
Americans claiming kingdom unemployment benefits.
“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not
Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE &
FRAUDULENT Election in history,” Trump stated in a tweet Thursday. “It will be an
excellent embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election till human beings can
properly, securely and safely vote?”
Under a regulation signed by using
President John Tyler, the presidential election is held’ on the first Tuesday
after the first Monday in November. It cannot be modified’ barring an act of
Congress, which would be challenging to bypass in the Democratic-controlled
House.
