UK PM Johnson arrived for coronavirus screening but has not yet arrived

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday pledged to launch an investigation to address the coronavirus crisis in the country but said it was not the time for a war to break out.

Opposition lawmakers have called for an investigation into the allegations, saying ministers have been slow to close, launch mass inquiries and distribute defense equipment.

Johnson has repeatedly said his government made the right decisions at the right time but acknowledged that lessons needed to be learned after the outbreak, which left Britain one of the most affected countries.

"We will try to learn the lessons of this epidemic in the future and there will be an independent investigation into exactly what happened."

His spokesman declined to comment further on the inquiry, but said more details would be specified in the "reasonable syllabus".
