Alyssa Haley of the Australian women's team surpassed MS Dhoni's record on Sunday and also in men's and women's cricket, the record for most wickets bowled by a wicketkeeper in the T20 format.
The female player achieved this feat during the second T20I of
the ongoing three-match series against New Zealand at Alan Border Field.
Haley of Australia has scored 92 runs in 99 T20 innings. Former
India captain MS Dhoni has 91 runs in 97 innings.
South Africa's Mark Boucher holds the record for most dismissals
by a wicketkeeper in international cricket. The Proteas have 998 outs in 467
international games. Adam Gilchrist (905 in 396 games) and Dhoni (829 in 538
matches) follow Boucher.
MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on
August 15 after representing India in 350 ODIs, 90 Tests and 98 T20s. He holds
the record for most international matches as a captain (332). The 39-year-old
is said’ to be the fastest man behind the wicket, with Dhoni having 195
international stumpings, the most by any wicket-keeper.
