Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli started his IPL 2020 season with a back-to-back medieval performance. In the first two games of this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kohli managed to score 14 against Sun Riser Hyderabad and only 1 against Kings XI Punjab. Fans have been forced’ to lose their composure, but coach Rajkumar Sharma believes it is a part of a player's life.
In an interview with ANI, Kohli's childhood coach claimed that
the standard set by the captain of Team India is the reason why the fans have
cooled down so quickly and whenever they keep an eye on him Star Man wants to
see runs.
"It's just a part and parcel of a player's life. You have
good days and you have good days on the pitch. It's just that Kohli has set
such a standard that people forget that He's just a man and not a machine.
You're bound to stay closed for a few days and there's nothing wrong with that.
Is a part of
"Every time you walk on the pitch you can't succeed.
Kohli's fans have become so accustomed to seeing him perform consistently that
even a bad innings offends him," he pointed out.
In the last game, Kohli also missed some catches, which was
eventually’ found by KIP captain KL Rahul while scoring the match-winning
century. Does the coach feel that his ward is a bit restless because he has not
been on the pitch for nearly six months? The prince replied in the negative.
"First of all, as I said before, these things happen.
Anyone can miss one or two catches. Even Jonty Rhodes missed catches here and
there. Javed Miandad is considered’ a great fielder. Used to go and if you look
back he slipped once or twice.
"So, it has nothing to do with patience or the urge to set
the tone after the resumption of cricket. It's just a bad day that can come on
the field that could be even better." She has played so much cricket that
she came back strong and "superior from the front," the coach smiled.
RCB did not have a good game against KCIP on Thursday as they
lost by 97 runs at the Dubai Cricket Stadium. Kohli did not bother about the
fact that it was a bad office day not only for the team but also for the
individual.
"Yeah, it didn't work out. I think we were good in the middle
with the ball. They got off to a good start and we pulled things back well. I
have to stand in front and take revenge." "Not the best day of the
office, there were some important chances for KL to be ready and we had to
spend 35-40 in the next phase," he said at the post-match presentation.
