US President Donald Trump launched a fresh satirical attack on Republican Senator John McCain on Wednesday, after which McCain's widow dropped her support behind Joe Biden in the election.
In a particularly aggressive tweet, the
Republican leader once again criticized John McCain, one of the few Republicans
who openly assassinated him.
She tweeted, "I hardly know Cindy
McCain about putting her on the committee at her husband's request.
"Joe Biden was John McCain's lapdog,"
he said of the Democratic Challenger, who will face him on November 3 after
seeking a second four-year term.
Condemning "bad decisions about
never-ending wars," Trump said he was "never a fan of John."
"Cindy might be asleep!" The
president ended.
Announced Tuesday, @JoeBiden support for
Cindy McCain is a blow to Trump, who faces a tough election challenge and is
proud to have the entire Republican Party behind him.
The former senator's widow tweeted,
"We are Republicans, yes, but Americans are the most important. There is
only one candidate in this race who stands up for our values as a nation, and
that is Biden."
