Emergency responders at the scene were identified’ as Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Ambulance Service, LRU Ambulance, Nigerian Police, Lagos State Fire Service, LRU Fire Unit and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.

Confirming the crash, the public relations officer, LASEMA, Nosa O'Connor, said: "As soon as the accident was reported, it was discovered that more than one accident involved two tipper trucks, with number plates AKM 741 ZT and AKM 322 ZT.
