Anthony Fauci, an American infectious disease specialist said on Sunday that it would be clear if any COVID-19 vaccine was safe and effective by early December, but that more vaccines would not be available in 2021.
"We will find out if any vaccine is safe or
effective by early December, by the end of November," Fauci told the BBC.
"When you talk about vaccinating a large
proportion of the population, so that you can have a significant impact on the
dynamics of the spread, it is unlikely until the second or third quarter of the
year."
