Report: Financial Advisor For Next Week's Visit To Beirut

A delegation from the financial institution Lazard will visit Beirut next week as it holds talks with IMF stall al-Jamhoria on Saturday.

Sources in the Finance Ministry said that the delegation will discuss the "financial and economic" developments that have taken place in the troubled country over the past five months and may be attracted by suggestions to reform the government's recovery plan.

Lebanon approved Lazard, a US investment bank, to be its financial adviser on debt restructuring in February.

According to reports, the advisers "see if Lazard can revise the government's economic stimulus plan to reach a meaningful solution to the International Monetary Fund because the plan has been rejected by lenders, banks and the Central Bank of Lebanon". "
