The Intel Conference has asked UNSG to appoint a special envoy on the IOK



New York - At the two-day international conference on Kashmir hosted by the University of Istanbul, United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on the appointment of a special envoy to resolve the decades-long conflict between India and Pakistan.

Video-link meeting in New York expressing deep concern over the deteriorating situation in Indian occupied Kashmir. The current situation in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir was also discussed by prominent persons from Pakistan and Turkey.

The meeting adopted a statement welcoming the re-examination of the UN chief to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Charter and Security Council, which pledged self-determination to the people of Kashmir.

President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan, Information Minister Shibli Faraz and Bhagwan Nazir Ahmad were also present at the meeting.
