Paul Pogba is back in the French squad for the first time since June last year after joining coach Didier Deschamps on Thursday for the upcoming friendly against Ukraine and the double header of the UEFA Nations League against Portugal and Croatia.
Manchester United star Pogba had to decide
to return to the squad for France's first game in the latest edition of the
Nation League last month, but was forced’ to retire after taking a positive
test for Cove 19.
He won 69 of his caps in the Euro 2020
qualifiers in Andorra 16 months ago.
Rennes starlet Eduardo Camanga, 17,
rejoined the Stade de France on September 8 after a 4-2 victory over Croatia.
Lyon's Haseem Over has also been called up’
to the 24-man squad and it is hoped that this is the first time his career has
started after a positive coronavirus test when he did.
World Cup holders enjoy Ukraine next
Wednesday, October 7, at the Stade de France, four days before they face
Portugal in the same place in the Nations League.
He then travels to play Croatia in Zagreb
on October 14.
France beat Sweden 1-0 in their first two
games before their home victory against Croatia in League A, Group Three.
