As the election draws near, protesters have gathered in Washington, D.C., for an election night rally, renaming Black Life’s Meter Plaza.
Protesters
held placards and banners Tuesday night as the night wore on.
Live
anti-Trump protesters were seen’ dancing, singing and chanting slogans as they
anxiously awaited the results of the presidential election.
He
took the position from the White House fence, which was tied’ to anti-Trump
placards.
Polling
in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vermont and Virginia ended at
12:00 GMT.
In
DC, the plaza had a heavy police presence and business in the area has grown.
The
demonstration was peaceful, but a protester was arrested’ trying to stop police
from removing the illegally parked truck, according to local reports.
The
mayor of Washington, D.C., renamed the plaza outside the White House in June
the Black Lives Meter Plaza.
Mayor
Morrell Bowser, a Democrat, unveiled a two-block-long wall leading to the White
House across the street that reads about black lives.
The
mayor approved a plan to build a wall for volunteers in a clear rebuke of
Donald Trump's military response to police brutality against blacks.
