SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has launched a new product platform that will be open to other carmakers, its chairman Wang Chuanfu said on Monday.
Wang was speaking at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show. BYD, backed by US investor Warren Buffett, developed the electric model with Daimler AG, Toyota Motor Corporation and Didi Chuxing.
BYD's rival carmaker Gali launched an open-source platform for other companies last year.
