The Houston Police Department said Houston police and fire officials responded to reports of a fire at the Chinese Consulate-General premises in Houston on Tuesday night.
Houston police said they began receiving reports that the documents were burning after 8 p.m. Montrose Boulevard at 3417 where the Consulate is located.

The videos shared by the viewer living next to the consulate show several open bins or containers with open flames. People can be seen throwing objects into the fires.

The next night, a KPRC2 crew caught people on the premises of a burning property.

Dozens of Houston first responders arrived at the scene but did not enter the property.
"You can burn paper," a witness at the scene told KPRC2, "However, firefighters were all around the building and they could not go inside."
